Default Mat stats

Hiya all,

Just after some info...

Can you plug more than one heat mat into a mat stat?

Probably been answered before but i cant find owt

yeah just plug the mats in to a multi plug adaptor then plug that in the the socket on the stat

Wanted to set up two small vivs without goin out to buy another stat but didnt wanna scrimp and end up killin summat.

Just make sure that the total load does not exceed the wattage that the thermostat can take.
I think its 100w for matstats... so you should be fine with a few.

Cheers for that info. Should be able to run 3 off one stat quite safely then.

yeah 100w for a mat stat i always make sure i go a bit under this to be on the safe side

having more than one mat is fine, just be carefull with the temps in the other vivs as dont forget you only have one sensor

I am currently running 12 mats on 1 stat. Sounds a lot but the stat will take a MAX load of 1000watts, and each mat is 12 watts

Only slight drawback is that it does seem to take longer to reach the desired temp......which is to be expected with the amount of mats I guess

But if the stat can handle it, i guess temps are the only worry
