its easy just make sure you double check your measurements before you go for the wood and glass take a look at other peoples vivs for design ideas and go for it.
hope this helps

It's really easy, but takes time. I'm still wary of the powertools, especisally the holesaw I use for vents. I get the contiboard cut at B&Q 'cos I'm useless with a handsaw, and I'd lose an arm with a powersaw.
Make a plan of what you want to achieve with dimensions. For instance if you have a space 3*2*2 outside dimensions then you need a 2* wide sheet, and cut 2 pieces 24" long. For the uprights you need 24" minus 30mm (2*15mm). The plinth(s) should be 36" minus 30mm. The back will be 3*2. I use frame clamps to clamp the pieces together at right angles and then drill pilot holes and countersink before screwing the pieces together. I also use sealant to seal all the edges before assembly. Once the top, bottom and sides are assembled it's still really flimsy before the back is in place. Once complete seal all the joints on the inside, and seal all the cut ends with sealant or iron on melamine strip. I use a 72mm holesaw to cut holes fro the vents. I've never built stacks, but I bet they have a whole new set of problems to sort out - like how do you make sure that the "shelves" are at the right height so that the glass fits properly? And how do you make sure the "shelves" are horizontal front to back. And how do you stop bowing etc.
