Question top or side ???? which is best

hi all
at the mo my royal is in a glass tank 3 X 18 X 18 . the heat lamp is directly
on top of the meshing,(one of these crappy starter kit type tanks) in a few weeks im havin one built 4 X 2 X 2, now heres the question, which is best , screwing the new light fitting directly on the roof so it points down or screw the light fitting on the side at a angle ? i shall still be using the habistat dimmer & 100 watt bulb or should i replace it with a 150 ? if its on the side
thanks for any advice

I would personally go for a ceramic heater. I have one for my Royals vivs, and its suitable. Aslong as there is a bulb guard/cage and a thermostat is connected, the temperture is stastained.

And i usually hang directly pointing down. If you do go ahead for the standard bulb, i would defernetly go for 150, as it will be a bigger cage, aswell having the thermostat attached, it should be fine.
