Default Plastic viv heating.....

Hi all
I was thinking of buying a plastic viv with the sliding glass at front but how would you heat it?? Wouldn't the plastic melt??
Oh its for a beardie

The plastc will be thermoset plastic meaning it won't melt but I wouldn't use a plastic viv for a beardie... It wont hold heat well and I doubt you'll find one big enough for when he's older. I'd just get his final viv now... cheaper in the long run

if your on about those black plastic vivs that slant at the front i have seen them in 4ft x2ft x2ft. I was told they warp due to the heat and there was another problem with them which ive since forgotten

Either way plastics crap, wood rules (much better at insulating too!)

One of the most misguided posts i've ever seen!!

Plastic is far superior to wooden vivs and if you can't get one big enough for an adult beardy you need to look harder (i could find several in about 30 seconds)

Yes, a plastic viv would be just peachy. You can get plastic vivs up to 6 feet in length "off the rack" so size is FAR from an issue.

Many plastic vivs are equipped with areas for ceramic bulbs, which are also great for beardies.

if they are equiped for ceramic bulbs then they would be fine with normal reflector [light] bulbs also which are better or atleast more natural feeling for beardies.
