It's getting a bit overgrown now and could do with a prune. The Muhlenbeckia at the bottom in particular is getting a bit out of control, and the Java Moss has rather taken over on the right hand side, there's a "tree trunk" under there somewhere!

Water is pumped from the base up to the top of the tree and it used to run down the trunk, now it filters down through the moss and is constantly dripping off the bottom, it looks nice but isn't quite what I originally intended.

Graham,

Excellent looking vivarium there, we used to keep a large collection of dendrobates/phyllobates and epidobates. Used to thoroughly enjoy the maintenance of the terrariums.

What lighting are you using on this tank? The plants seem to be thriving as does the moss. Just a few quick questions for you;

1.) What are you using to circulate the water ie. pump/power head etc?

2.) Where did you source your plants?

3.) Are the bromeliads planted in soil or attached via epiphyte methods?

4.) What sort of vivarium is this beautiful hardscape created in?

Sorry for all the questions

Thanks

Jackie & Mick

A small Eheim submersible pump.

Mostly from E.N.T. Terrarientechnik

Epiphytic, they just have a bit of granulated fernroot around their bases. There's some scattered on the floor too and a few months ago a nice fern spontaneously appeared from it!

I made the viv myself, from MDF waterproofed with epoxy resin.

The lighting consists of two T5 daylight tubes, total 48W, running off a twin electronic ballast.
