Default keeping plants alive in a natural viv?

im hoping to try and maintain a natural viv with live plants. unfortunatly whatever plants i try, they die. they get watered twice daily cause of the temp, at the mo i got a bromeliad in the cool end which is supposed to be suited to high temps and humidty but its already started dieing. any advice?

i use live plants in my white,s tree frogs viv,but it is humid and i don't have to water them, you may need to look at plants like aloe, yucca as they like the heat.

I've only ever had success with ivy but that will grow anywhere. You can obtain the natural look with high quality silk plants if all else fails.

Lots of light is essential, I have 48W of T5 daylight tubes in my 2' x 2' terrarium and the plants are thriving, especially the Ficus and broms.

Are you having animals in it as well or just plants? if you want animals as well then it's best to set up conditions to suit the plants, then find animals to suit rather than the other way around.

Too much water. You should only water them when the soil feels dry and then only a small amount, enough to make the soil slightly damp. Most people water far too much and drown the plants. In a viv they will get moisture from the humid air inside it.

i got one of the broadspectrum daylight bulbs on the other end, a bromeliad is a airplant & i didn't think it would need much light as there aint much in rainforests they live in. probably need deeper substrate, i spray twice daily to try keep the humidity up cause the bulb get the viv quite warm so it dries out every day but not much is sprayed on the plant itself.
ivy sounds interesting but i didn't know whether it would be ok with the heat.

your spraying twice a day will be enough to keep the lants alive you dont need to water them ontop of that

peace lily, dont like it hot ,yes they are a house plant but need plenty of air cirulation , and cooler temps than in a viv, banana plant get big even ,dwarfs 1`s which around 3-5 feet and need plenty of moisture and food , to flourish, bromeliads are epiphyte ( clinging to things to grow too) and get moisture and nutrient from the atmosphere, but put in water in to the rosette of leaves , and they will hold water and keep that full, which fills up in the rain, fucus and ferns should be fine.
just shout if you need any more , i work at plant nursery.
