Default Need to move light on tank and cover up holes from wires - please read

Hi All.

My poor gecko past away today. My other one has been moved to a smaller tank.

I have a tank that cost me a fair bit to set up, and i want to keep it after sterilization. The problem is the light holder is a plastic slanted one (the light has been on for 5 months and the plastic is still cold). Anyway i need to refit a new holder so it points straight down to create a thermal gradient.

There will be various holes from wires and screw holes which i need to cover up. Whats the best wood filer to do this? The tank is a beech effect.

Another question is where can i get light guards from? I have tried 3 DIY stores and they dont sell them.

Thanks a lot.

Plug big holes with a piece of wooden dowel glued in, screw holes can be filled with Polyfiller, paint over with matching emulsion to hide them.

Actually mix some wood glue with sawdust to plug in the small holes. Almost hides the holes completely.
