Default Summer heat affecting temperature gauging

Quick q' i've had a few problems with heating my viv since its got warmer..

because of the heat, im no longer able to control the temperature in the cold end of the tank effectively, so because the sensor see's that the temperature in that end is quite hot, it's turning the bulb/off altogether in the day.. BUT if i turn the thermostat up, i'll be frying the hotspot? no?

any advice? my first thought was to get a lower watt bulb, so that it emits more light, whilst keeping the temp stable? is this ok? i brought a 60 watt as opposed to the usual 100 Watt ones i use.

i have had this problem too so i have been experimenting a little.

i bought a 6inch desk fan and attached it to the inside on my viv (roof) facing down then i attach it too a cool control stat and set it to 85f, once it gose past 85f the fan switches on and cools the cool end! up to now its working
