Default advice on our beared dragon set up please :)

Hello! My husband (azpiercedaz) has almost finished building the viv to house some beardies (at some point this year hopefully). Anyway, we were wondering what size UV light to get. we can get hold of a uv black light/strip light at 2ft or 18 inch, which would be best if any?
Also, hes made some windey type slanted slopes and a bridge out of polysterine then coated with grout for strength and a pva sand mix, is this ok?
Cheers
H

BDs will chew their surroundings quite violently. Watch them with the grout/PVA/sand polymer you've made. They impact really easily.

BDs are desert agamids. We use Reptiglo 8.0 UV tubes. I have a 30"x15"x18" viv & I use 2 x 18" tubes (40W) one down each side. The BDs like to get close to their sunshine.

Our BD also has a polystyrene viv wall at the back. It insulates, decorates & acts as a climbing wall for her.

She likes a big shallow pool in her viv. I know they're desert types really but the pool makes her happy & really helps when she's shedding to keep her comfy.

All I keep are desert agamids (cos I love 'em) and they are easy to please. They like it hot, they like to climb (walls/rocks etc) and they LOVE their sunshine (UV & basking spot)

Good luck with your BDs. They are cool.

my viv is 4x2x2 foot and i have a 3 foot uv tube along the top with a branch that the bd climbs up to get closer to the tube.
