i was lookin at the ikea site and found this
IKEA | Cabinets & sideboards | Cabinets | GRIMLE | Glass-door wall cabinet

what could yuh keepin there like all its life

all i think i will need to do is add vents

with it only being just under 1ft deep probably leos or something small

4ft wide and just under 1ft the other dimensions.

and then i would have the fun of filling it

if you added it to the back you'd have fun picking the broken glass off the floor.. lol

they're wall mounted units and the weight or 2 would drop it clean off the wall.

we have these for dvds and games, they arent very deep inside, just deep enough to put a dvd case in.
if you were to use two of them for something that might work but i dont think there is enough space between the glass to put something in there to stop it sliding

You probably don't want anything like this, but have you looked at this:

Its what I was originally thinking of using!
