Exclamation what substrate for babie beardies?

hi ive got eggs in incubator nd ive bought 2 2.5ft by 1.5ft by 2ft vivs nd ive got everything set up but was woundering what substrate too put in cause ive got pleanty of calci sand but that stops them growing i think? what could i put in ? ive bin recomended newspaper is that ok?

Dont put them on sand- they will eat it with the live food. Kitchen roll or newspaper is your best option- cheep, easy to replace and no chance of injestion.

anything thats not particulate that you can monitor their poo/hygeine etc

kk how often do you change the newspaper? what age can you bring the babie berdies out of cage as newspaper youwould have too change everyday wouldnt you?thanks

When I first got my BD's I moved them into a cardboard box lined with kitchen roll so that they couldn't run and hide. Now they're older (~9 months), they'll sit quietly on the sofa for a good while before they want to wander off.

Change it whenever it gets soiled. Keeps it hygenic
