Default Hi, here is a pic of one of the vivs for our new rankins

Hi there,

First time poster but have been doing a bit of reading lately... didnt know if this should go here or in the lizards section...

We are getting a couple of rankins dragons next week and I have set up a couple of vivs (we are getting 2, one in each viv) so the vivs can be dialled in and anything wrong can be righted... the vivs are 36x15x15 each and have a basking light at one end (temps get up to 98ish degrees f) with a UV light all the way along the viv (well nearly all the way)... The logs are cork bark at and I am looking to add a piece of slate in the next week or so (probably in the basking area... the substrate is tortoise life substrate (recommended by the rep shop and on the bag it says its for reps from an arid type environment) and is nearly 2 inches deep. There is also a water dish (as seen in the pics). Any thing else I should add before I get the new babies...?? I pick them up next sunday and the kids are really looking forward to getting them in. Cheers all..

Ok I cant seem to get the pics to show on the post but if you copy the link and paste it in your browser you should be able to get them ok... *mutter, mutter, darn new fangled technamologoly...*

It might be something to do with where the image is hosted... Thanks for the comment... its really my first viv as the skinks and geckos were kept in modified fishtanks and didnt require lighting and heat like here in the UK...

I dont mind the cold usually... too hot blooded me...

At the moment all I have is two false map terrapins and we get two rankins dragons in a week... once we move house though I am looking to get a few more different kinds of lizard and perhaps turtles... depends on how much I can get away with the wife...

Near Greenwich... snakes are out as the wife is not keen... I keep asking but she aint budging...!!! She is from Aussie though so may be something from her childhood and the fact that there are so many poisonous snakes there... but once we get our new place then I will start getting a few more family members...
