hi i am going to be rehoming a chinese water dragon, at the moment he is in a stupidly small viv and i want to get a big one built before i get him home. the viv is going to be about 5.5ft high, 2ft deep, and 4ft wide. The main thing i want to know is what are the best materials to build it out of, whats the best wood etc.? also is perspex ok to use for the doors? as iv got a couple of nice sheets lying around that i could use! any help wud be much appreciated! cheers

o yeah and aswell i want to plat a couple of real plants in the viv when its done, what is the best way to do this and what sort of plants are suitable?

you could build it out of pretty much any wood although you'd need to make sure it was fully sealed. Not 100% sure if melamine / contiboard is the best idea because of warping with the humidity but i think its ok if you seal the joins with sealant.

I'm probably going to be building a big one (6x7x3) soon and might use sterling board (the stuff you use to board up windows) as it's cheap and the edges wont be seen.

not sure on the plants though.
