i just made a couple of phonecalls for quotes on glass for a tiny weenie hatchling snake viv i was building

First place: "Oh yes mate that would be about 12 quid a pane (4 panes) call it £50" surely 4 panes is £48 quid but hey ho

second place: (3 miles up the road) "i can do you the lot, smoothed, 4mm, with handles for £20 mate" (and also knew what a viv was!)

it seems like anybody these days is ready to rip you off first chance they get! but still £20 for 2X 2ft vivs aint bad is it?..hehe..

I know what you mean, it's ridiculous. I recently phoned a local company and asked for a price on 4 2'x2' pieces of 4 mm polished safety glass and they quoted me £6 each - so I thought 'hey that's not bad'. Phoned a few days later to order them in and pay over the phone and they had gone up to £20 each???? I mean what's that all about lol ..... when I told her that I was quoted at £6 a piece she laughed lol I then very politely told her where she can stick her pieces of glass lol

the cheapest glass is horticulture glass(used in greenhouses) but i wouldnt use it for a boa etc,would be fine for geckos

asked the hotel how much a taxie would cost from here to there, they said 20 LE, police/guards said the same, then the taxi asked for 40 LE, so we said NO YOULL TAKE US FOR 40 LE. and they said ok ok
