Couple of points - firstly, is that a perfecto viv, one of the ones that has a screen across the whole top?
If so, cover it with something (a towel maybe) just leaving a couple of inches clear at each end - this'll help keep the humidity in. For a humid hide you'd be better off using a plastic tub of some kind, with an entrance hole and a few vent holes added - it'll hold the moisture a lot better than an open container like the pot (which looks fine as a hide). A minor point - the wooden hide on the right - turn it around 90 degrees so it's not facing the front to give the snake a bit more privacy. Lastly - are you using a thermostat for the heat mat? And what temps are you getting (near floor level) at each end? |

thanks for comments.
It is a perfecto viv, i've got half the top covered at the moment, will try a bit more. The mat is on a thermostat - averages 88-90 at the hot end and about 75-78 at the cool. She loves the pot hide, was a whole 1.99 from poundstretchers lol. will try and find something that retains humidity better. cheers pamela xx |
