Default Branches from Garden!

Anybody know how to safely treat a branch from in the garden? I'm sure there are no pesticides etc in use but I'd like to be sure when using them for either my Chams or my Carpet Pythons!

Baking or freezing will both work.

Just be careful what trees you use. Pine tree are a no no as they produce toxins that are lethal to reptiles.

Any fruit trees are okay to use. Ig you live near the coast try looking for driftwood which will be pretty safe after soaking for so long.

You probably already know that pine is no good, toxic to reptiles, but I'll mention it anyway coz it's not been raised in this thread yet. Ive only treated smaller pieces, and they were scrubbed down in the bath then boiled.

Oops, sorry, pine has been mentioned!

Thanks guys, I always thought the oven method was possible, i'll probably use a combination of washing/scrubbing with it!
