Default Is is safe ?

Hi,
I am prepping a viv for my baby beardies and i took a piece of a clay that was part of a kiln out of the garden and washed it in hot reptile disinfectant then have put it in the over on high for half an hour.
It still has black marks on it that wont scrub off from the previous fires.
Will it be ok to put in the tank for the babies to use as a basking spot ?
Cheers J
