Question viv building

i am going to start building my first viv 2day the only question i have is what do i put the viv 2gether with i dont want screws to be seen on the outside, i no i can join it with a few screws on the inside but i want it to be stirdy as hell, i am using 18mm thick conti board any help would b awsum....cheers!

fixing blocks are great as they go on the inside so no screw holes on the top and easy to use.most diy shops have them.

lol I was just googling for on of those pics, cos I can not remember what they are called. yup use the above and seal with silicon.

cheers m8, will that be sturdy enough or do i need to put some sort of adhesive to stick it or........oh ryt dint see the 2nd post cheers all!!!! any other tips or problems any1 has come across?

if you counter sink the base screws on 18mm you can use large screws to fix the base to the sides which will make it stronger and use the blocks to fix the top on.

dont use the viv until the smell of sealent has completly gone (use aquarium grade) and be very careful when you measure up for the glass !
other than that its easy, I am a 'bird' with no real diy skills and i have built two stacks of vivs.

if you dont want screws and caps on the outside have you thought about using dowels? use silicon instead off glue it holds just aswell if not better than woodglue
