Default light bulbs and thermostats??

i remember being told not to use thermostats to controle heat given out by lightbulbs, is it a no no?

i want to set up a couple of pennine tanks up to be exactly the same temperature which is set by a pulse praportional habistat i have. i thought i might acheive this by pitting the probe from the habistat into one of the pennines then using a multiplug unit have all heatmats (or bulbs of its ok.) running through the one habistat. does this sound ok?

thanks

ok you can indeed use more than one heat source using one stat.
However the heat in the seperate vivs will vary between them
A pulse proportionate stat is designed for use with ceramic heaters and not for heatmats or lightbulbs.
These stats pulsate power to the heat source and will very quickly blow up your light bulb.
