Default new viv diy build!

I am about to build a new viv for my iguana.
I have had a quote from arnold laver for everything apart from the glass.
They have said £52.35 inc. VAT
I have a local supplier of glass but don't know how much it is going to cost!
Arnold Laver will cut all the wood into the panels I need and all I have to do is screw it together(screws and blocks included) and seal it(aquarium sealant included).
It is the inside that is bothering me!
Not sure what to do in it!
I am going to get a tubular heater and guard for 30 quid delivered and put that in the bottom and put a shelf above it to hide it slightly.
I have arranged to collect a pulse stat on tuesday so am going to get a ceramic light and reflector guard for it.
I want to be able to put something on the inside on all sides to cover up the white melamine! Not the most natural of backgrounds!!!
Also what about things to climb, ie Logs, Ladders etc.
Don't know where to get them from or how much the inside stuff will cost!
Any ideas or anyone know where to go!
I live in chesterfield so would need to be somewhere within a 40 mile radius for collecting stuff!
This is Jade who I am building it for

Logs and the like can be 'borrowed' from local woodlands etc. Just sterilise it well first. ladders and ramps you can make easily enough, just some planks with strips of wood screwed across them will do. A few shelves, some lumps of bark (available from any good online store.....we have it just not uploaded updats to site yet) and a nice big cat litter tray as a waterbowl. Few plastic plants etc. and voila an Iguana Penthouse

why not try using a white light basking lamp with dimming thermostat instead of the pulse prop. and ceramic as iguanas will associate light with heat. as for climbing structures give your iggy as many as you feel nesecery just make sure that they are fixed and solid.

i have already bought the pulse stat and have been told that it will only really work with a ceramic. could i put a light in seperate just so it is on during the day?

as for cleaning any logs branches etc i use a 5% bleach solution to steep and clean then repeat with clean water then let them dry.

you could put a light in aswell but it would have to be on a dimmer. i personally use a 250w pig lamp on a dimming thermostat but thats in a huge enclosure.i dont like using ceramics with iggys purely on that fact.

Apple is perfect not sure about the chainsaw though. Has the Iguana got all the correct protective gear, trousers, gloves, helmet and boots? How about certification? LANTRA? NPTC?

I think the husband would rather the iguana use it than me!
He doesn't think women and power tools mix very well!
Wonder how stupid she would look with all that kit on!!!!

Not sure if you have considered it but I would be remiss not to suggest it. I do agree with Weeminx re: the ceramic, you may be better depending on the size of vivarium you are building to think about investing in a mercury vapour bulb of some description. They supply both heat and light. Personally I would recommend the Mega-Ray (but that's no suprise really is it?) or the T-Rex Active UV range over a Powersun or any of the cheaper MVB's coming on the market now.

Cable ties can be a handy solution to binding logs and branches together, but watch for tight forks and anything similar that they can get caught up in.
