Default Opinions needed please (leo owners)

Ok so i decided to build a stck for leopard geckos, knowing noting about diy i roped my dad into helping.

i used conti boards for top, bottom, sides and shelves and he said to use hardboard for back (simlar stuff to the stuff you get on back of wardrobes, dressers, bookshelves ect, but slightly thicker n stonger), so we have done, its seem secure enouigh and i havent even sealed it yet.

BUT, a friend of mine said it is no good (she keeps snakes and so is is judging buy if i was to have snakes in it) but it is not, like i said it is for leopard geckos.

It been a complete nightmare from start to finish, and i'm ready to give up. i want to know what everyone thinks? is it no good? (if so then i'm just going to have to give up)

here a pic of it so far, still a lot to do but aint gonna bother if it no good

I don't see anything wrong with it, obviously you would have to put the sliding doors in, i would recommend perspex, but yeah it loks great, you will also have driol a hole to feed the heat mat cable through.

well done, nice work so far!!

I wouldnt recommend the backing if it was a high humidity species but for leopard geckos I can't see anything wrong with it!

I'd change the backing to something a little stronger like 6mm ply but that's because I don't like hardboard, other than that nothing wrong with the vivs. And go for glass it's easier to clean without scratching.

cheers, well its seems strong enouigh to me, still need to get rest of it done, i thought bout varnishin the back, that way it protected.

so we think it ok? like i say it is just for leopard geckos so dont need to worry bout humidity and well leos are weak little things som them breaking it jus aint gonna happen.

I know where my friend is commin from, she made loads of stacks n vivs so knows what she is talkin bout.

I'm gonna give it a go, see what its like when i finnish it (its my frist ever viv stack so i aint done to badle really lol)

now i'm in two minds about weather to use perspex or glass, i know perspex will get scratched to buggery (spec with leos) but glass breaks easier lol so still deciding lol

dont see a prob with it, looks good, just put silicone or somethin round the edges to stop heat loss and bits of substrate falling out etc. Should look spot on when its finished, well done!!

I think it'll do the job...

but if i was to make a suggestion it would be to stick a few more of the metal brackets in under all the shelves, a couple at the front as well as the back.
