Making a viv is fairly easy to be honest.

All you need is:

wood

make a box out of it

Add shelves for the different levels and if you want add panels for the glass runners (i did 6inch at the top and bottom to save splashing out on loads of glass)

Add a back - no pic but i used hardboard.

add glass

vents are easy or hard. Easy = drill a hole, cut a square out with a jigsaw and put vent covers over. Hard = get the round vents and drill the holes the right size so they pop in.

Then just add the interior.

It took me ages cos i'm lazy but the basic shape was done over 2 nights. So just a couple of hours. That one is 5x2x2 with 3 levels and the middle level split in 2.

Cost me far too much for different reasons.
They had no 6x2 in a decent colour so i got 8x2 and had it cut down to size which left me loads of left overs.
6 * 8x2 at about £16 each.
6 * 6'x6" at about £4 each.
Trade box of screws, different sizes, about a fiver
£30 for a recipreator (sp) saw cos my mate had my jigsaw and his missus had just had a kid so i didn't want to go round
3 x 6x2 hardboard at about £2 each
4 hardboard joiners at about £2 each
Hardboard tacks at about £2 for 100
glass runners (6ft so i could go up the sides). 2 top and 2 bottom at about £6 each + delivery.
Glass cost £34, 6mm not polished or toughened for 4 sheets.
vent covers at £2 each. quantity depends how many you use but i used 2 for each vent so it looks tidy from the outside and inside.
£20 on a cordless drill so i didn't have to mess about changing head from drill to crew driver.

costs a lot less than that if you don't buy as much pointless crap as i did

mine took a day to do lol, a full 9 hours of hard labour, it feels great once it's done though, i can look at my leopards and think to myself......oh yes! i made there home, i did that..... lol..... if your on a tight budget, i would rcommend that instead of glass, use about a 5mm thick, perspex thingy, people say it scratches easily but i havent come across any scratches, and also it saves you worrying about you accidentily breaking it while trying to fit it as perspex is alot harder to break than glass.
