Default viv size?

hey guys, i have an old 2ft by 1ft by 18inch deep glass tank i used to keep fish in, would it be cruel to house a full size corn/python.
is there any other snakes that would thrive in a viv of this size?
thanks all..

What python do you mean?

I am presuming a roayl here.....although most royals do well in smaller vivs and/or racks. A full glass tank would be no good, as they like to feel secure.

Also the size isn't great for a fully grown adult corn either. Corns do reach different sizes, but the recommended, minimum vivarium size is 3x2x2 feet

I personally don't like glass tanks to house snakes, but i am sure some people like them.

I agree I personally don't think all glass is best for snakes but that's my opinion.

hey guys, yeh ive herd glass vivs arent too clever, ive solved the 'feeling secure' problem with my corn i have at the moment by covering both sides and back of the glass with background.
yeh probly a royal python, ide really like a python but not sure which breed to buy, smaller the better really as i have little space, would a royal thrive in my spare viv ya reckon?
thanks!

hey, i wouldnt go ahead against what you guys say on here i can assure you that
But surley, if i was to even paint the back and sides of the glass viv this would be as good as any other type of viv?

another thing, so is the only problem i have is the viv been glass or is the size unapropriate for a royal?

thanks.

Well some royals grow quite large, and although most are shy, some are quite active, and will use space given

I have heard glass tanks, are not that great at holding heat?

get a childrens python, can be difficult to come buy but are the second smallest python you can get, cant think of the name of the smallest, anitles python or somethin. Childrens grow up to about a meter, so 2 foot viv should be ok, prob best to put backgrounds around the viv tho so it doesnt get stressed out etc. Good luck

surely a 2x1x1.5 Is too small for an adult corn, or a royal?

a 2 foot viv would be around two thirds the size of a childrens python which i would have thought would have been ample space, depends on the individual snake tho i spose.
