Post RUB Help Needed

Well, the royal which i am selling is getting too big for the glass viv she is in and i'm going to put her in a 50L RUB, but i need to make some vents/ventilate the RUB. but how would i do it as i don't have the proper tools or could anyone tell me what i would need to make holes in the rub to make some ventilation.

just use a drill and put a selection of holes in.

I used a drill in one of my rubs, and melted holes in the other couple with a soldering iron just make sure your careful whatever way you decide to make them

were did you put the holes and did u have to stand in the rub or on the lid when you were drilling?

i do have a drill but don't know if it will be good enough, i'll have a look tomorrow

It's a kebab stick made of metal and i heat it over the hob. I find it a lot easier than a drill because the plastic doesn't split like it can with a drill.

ohh i'll try and find a metal poll and warm it up very hot and do it that way, as i see your point about the box splitting when drilling.

I used a drill for mine as my soldering iron was broken and i couldn't be bothered heating up metal on the hob to melt them...
Just start with a pilot bit and increase holes by a mil each time and dont put too much pressure on the drill or the plastic will crack.
Although you do get lots of swirly bits of plastic around which seem to attach themselves to everything they come into contact with. Bloody things...

No you dont need to stand in it or on the lid btw and I put my air holes in the ends
