Default What wattage Mega Ray inside 3.5ft-4ft viv??

any ideas what wattage mega ray should be used in a 3.5ftx2x2 viv???

self ballasted or externally ballasted???

They're really not to be used in small vivs, even my low wattage Megaray put out too much heat for my 5x2x2.

well atm i have 100w SB MVB mounted on top of viv in a dome reflector and seems fine..just wondered what wattage i could mount inside??

hi Dan,

It all depends on the ambient temp of the room the viv is in, if it's 10c then a 200 watt bulb would struggle to reach the correct temps. If it's 25c, then a 60watt would be too much.

It's a case of suck it and see.

I would go for a 70watt EB megaray M.H, and hope it can't reach the correct temps. This means you can add another spotlight to get, and hold the correct temps.
