i dont use anything as i havnt got a snake yet but im trying to get as much info as humanly possible and ive always wondered what substrate was best. and i'd rather get things like this from a forum as car sheets dont say wat people prefere it just gives you one or two options.

well i have hand my king outside of the tank for 6 years and he is fine and is as tame as can be!
if they like to burrow i would recommend aspen shavings as they are really easy for them to burrow in and also it retains it structure so they can reuse their tunnels etc! also it looks the business ![]() |

I'm looking at a layer of paper towels underneath floor tiles. I am going with the rough textured floor tiles that look like textured stone (not so rough that they can't be taken out and cleaned throroughly).

depends what rep it is really, for youngsters or recently purchased reps, we use kitchen towel so its easy to see if they're passing everything ok and easier to see where the crickets have gone etc. then, when they're all settled in, use vinyl lino stuff, or with cresties, pebbles and moss
