I use aspen as it looks nice and is reasonably easy to obtain and pretty cheap. also i feed outside of the tank so no probas about ingesting it!

i dont use anything as i havnt got a snake yet but im trying to get as much info as humanly possible and ive always wondered what substrate was best. and i'd rather get things like this from a forum as car sheets dont say wat people prefere it just gives you one or two options.

ahh right ok well i think it all depends on whether you decided to feed inside or outside the viv and if its a snake that likes to burrow or not really

I've used kitchen towel for dave in a tub and now he's on in under and around beech chips.

The kitchen towel is good for hatchlings as you can keep track of any "mess" they make as sometimes poo on beech chips is hard to find

well i have hand my king outside of the tank for 6 years and he is fine and is as tame as can be!

if they like to burrow i would recommend aspen shavings as they are really easy for them to burrow in and also it retains it structure so they can reuse their tunnels etc! also it looks the business

I'm looking at a layer of paper towels underneath floor tiles. I am going with the rough textured floor tiles that look like textured stone (not so rough that they can't be taken out and cleaned throroughly).

depends what rep it is really, for youngsters or recently purchased reps, we use kitchen towel so its easy to see if they're passing everything ok and easier to see where the crickets have gone etc. then, when they're all settled in, use vinyl lino stuff, or with cresties, pebbles and moss
