Hi

Does anyone know a good site where the dimensions of gallon tanks are listed. For example, it gives the typical dimensions of 10 gallon, 20 gallon, 30 gallon long enclosures etc?

this site has a quick list of tanks in galons along with dimensions.

I always work out the cubic feet by
lengthxdepthxhieght [in feet] and then x 7.5 for US Gallons.

if you do it in inches
example instead of 3x2x2 36x24x24 then you have to divide the total by 1728 to get the cubic feet, then as befre multiply by 7.5 for US gallons [or 6.4 i think for uk gsllons]

Easiest way I do it is (in inches) Length x Depth x Height divided by 231.

For example:

30" L x 12" D x 18" H = 64803.

64803 / 231 = 28 gallons.

i dont know where the "3" in 64803 came from but yes that works out right.

so in inches
lxdxh =
divide by 231 is US gallons.
