on / off..
not sure about the pro.. but i know the thermo control 2 has a timer but it isnt for day / night temperature, just a seperate socket for running a light for day / night cycle... i use them on my rack aswell, wouldnt use them with a heat lamp though due to them being on/off and not dimming.. :/ Owen |

There are two drawbacks to them though: 1)They are on/off, I have used mine on heat mats and on a tubular heater, but no good for lights or ceramics. 2) They are only sensitive to 1degree. So, the temperature will fluctuate between 26-27 at the probe placement, whereas my pulse prop stats will stay at exactly 26.6C, for example. Not a problem in a big viv, but could be a pain in the arse if used for multiple mats in racks. £35 is a good price, best I've found them for is £45, can I ask where you've found 'em? I haven't tried cause on/off stats are said to dramatically shorten the life of ceramic bulbs. I emailed Lucky Reptile to ask why they didn't do pulse prop stats, apparently there isn't much of a demand for them outside the UK, and, as Germany is their main market, it's not cost effective to make them. The guy was pretty pleased to receive feedback, and seemed fairly responsive so if enough people ask them to do a pulse prop range, perhaps they will! He did tell me they were developing a dimmer version though.
