rock wall shopping list
what exactly do i need to build a rock wall?
got a shed load of poly already  grout? sand? wood for supports? matt

polystene, grout, pva, sand, paint or varnish if you want and a shed load of patience oh and expanding foam if you want to use it.

what use does the pva glue have?
obviously the varnish is for the final coat and what about the sand? patience is not my strong point, but using a hot wire sculptor should help with that bit

usually to stick the sand on with unless you're planning on mixing the sand with the grout. you can put a few layers of grout on, then paint with PVA and sprinkle sand on top.

sounds like a good idea.
has anyone made a wall without putting sand on it? i'd imagine it's too smooth yes?

the best way i found is to cut the poly to the size you want it and apply 4 layers of grout to it, pva and sand it but do it outside the tank then it doesnt get messy, with my first one i got grout in the glass runners and it took ages to get out

how do you make it rounded, round rock effects i tryed a flame on it last time nd wasnt too good. hairdryer?
