Default Fake Rock...

I will shortly be building a polystyrene fake rock bottom thing for a viv, was just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make it look good and what to avoid etc. Also what would you use to stick pieces of poly together? Would the polystyrene be ok over the top of a heatmat or would it melt or something?

Many thanks

i used bits of thinish dowling and pva glue to stick the poly together, you can also use a little, and i mean little bit of white spirit ti make indents and curves in the poly as it kind of melts it

ok have just been experimenting with the stuff you put between walls and windows this stuff is totally non toxic as long as the rep cant actually swallow it and even in thes cases would have to have swallowed alot checked with manufacturers also it is great after half an hour for moulding just the way ya want it. and also you can put your extra bits in i.e. branches etc.. half an hour into setting then paint or whatever to your heartys content. i must qoute it has to be household and it will handle humidity at high levels and temps the same with no poisons being given off after 24 hrs
