Default exra warmth

i currntly use heat matts with my vivs givin a warm and cool end question is as the colder weather nears do i need to use another heat source aswell to keep ambiant temp up as im worried there get cold durin the night when the central heating cools down any addvice appreciated

as long as your heatmats are good enough and the correct size, and on a stat, temps should always remain fine.

I would put an infra-red bulb in there mate (at one end). Light Fitting is only a few pence, 40w bulbs (screw) are only a few quid and light guard is about £10 from most rep traders. I had a similar problem as my room temp is pretty low in the winter. This has helped no-end!

if your using heat mats... and are for non basking lizards..erm or snakes then just keeping the matstat on but turned down to 70 or whatnot over night should be fine...
really guess it depends on the rep and how much heat the viv is holding over night?

liek if it were a plastic tub without a lid [for exapmple only] and held zero heat except surface temp] then a mat may simply not do the job if room temp is low..
