I want to make like a shelf in my beardies vivs, leo viv and my collareds (making collareds new viv in Jan)
How would I do it?
Im planning on using melamine board so its strong, and matches the vivs. I will use building blocks to support it inside, and screw it to the viv from the outside.
BUT - how do I make it so its not slippy? I was thinking about vinyl tiles as thats what I use as substrate, but in the beardies and collareds the temps under basking spot make the tile not stick properly.
Also what about ramps to get up to it? Melamine board again, screwed from the outside. But how are they going to climb up that without sliding back down? The collareds will be OK 'cos they jump everywhere, the beardies dont and neither does the leo... The leo I imagine will be able to climb up when its got vinyl tiles on, but not the beardies.
Hmm, any ideas anyone please?

eerm.. for the shelf you could cover it with reptile carpet and fix (either with silicone or screws) a thin piece of wooden beading onto the edge of the shelf to create a lip so that the carpet cannot slide off. For the ramp maybe reptile carpet again as it provides a good purchase for the lizards. Either that or attach strips of wood across the ramp to create grooves like a ladder.
