Default tight beam spot light

I have a 100watt bulb in my collareds viv, I need to get the temps up so was going to get a 150watt bulb.
While I was searching I came across tight beam spot bulbs, they increase the basking spot by 35% to a normal spot bulb.
Does anyone know if it actually does? I need the temps upped by about 10-15f so thought this would work but dont want to waste my money.

Do I risk getting a 100watt tight beam spot bulb, or just go for a 150watt normal spot bulb...?

Tight spot will make the basking spot hotter by said percentages, but it will reduce the abiant temps.

This is because allot more of the heat is focused downward.

Go for a 150w exoterra halogen. They give UVA off, look better and have benifits to animals behaviour and health.

Worked for me to get the bask temps up for my collareds without raising ambient temps as Dan says. I also have a 10.0 tube the full length of the viv <12" up from where they like to hang out.

I Didnt think you could connect a thermostat to these.
If You Can, Then I'd Go With This Also.
