Yeah Mate, The Starter Is The Main Thing, You Should Have Enough Wire With The Starter Anyway. Tube holders often come with the starter kit.

Heres A Starter I Use.

If it's only for a snake (i.e. doesn't need to be UV), you can get a full fluoro setup from B&Q much cheaper than buying "reptile" light kits.

A self-contained fluorescent strip light kit (single or double depending on size) will cost less than a tenner ready to go. Just set it up (either screwed to the top/back of the viv, or resting on a mesh lid), plug it in, and away you go

Interesting Stuff Mate.
Any Links? Does It All Come In A Pack, Or You Have To Buy Each Item Sepretly. Would Come In Handy For Displaying My Snakes Viv's Without Blasting Them With UVA & UVB!

get down to focus and get 1x plug = 50p 1 x 1m of wire about £1. 1 x soccet (the type you can screw to the top of yoiu viv £1.00 and a low energy bulb = £1.00 then some mesh ( to make bulb gaurd) and you have your full light kit for not much - works really well and cheap as chips
