Default keeping spagnum moss fresh

i have loads of moss leftover from what i ordered, how can you keep it fresh so it can be used at a later date? does it need to be on soil?

i just re-seal the bag its in and it seems to stay fresh but i always mircowave it before i put it in the vivs to get rid of any nasties.

even though its quite wet? thats gona get sweaty and mouldy in a plastic bag isnt it?

I keep mine in a bucket of rainwater in the garden, it keeps nice and fresh for months. The chemicals in tap water will make it start to decompose so shouldn't be used.
