Default Painting a viv with emulsion?

Has anyone done this? My snakes viv is a nasty silver colour and i really would like to paint it a nicer one, i do have alternative housing for the snake however i only plan to paint the outside of the viv, with it being emulsion the smell isnt as strong but how long do you think id need to leave it before i let the snake in (bare in mind i only want to paint the outside of the viv) but if i was to paint the inside how long when before putitn the snake back in?

i varnished the outside a stack with a low odour varnish and left it a few days. Both the occupants were using heatmats and the was no smell inside.

For the inside it'll take longer and depends on how you're heating the viv. Couple of days between coats and then left with the heat in there till the smell has gone. It'll be longer with a bulb / ceramic as they get hotter.

Also if its contiboard the paint can peel off as its a smooth surface. Taken from conti.co.uk

Oh My what alot of work maybe ill just get some of that sticky covering stuff

lol, for the inside just go to B&Q they do self adhesive floor tiles for about £2 for 6. The black marble effect is nice. For the outside you could use wallpaper so it matches the room.
