Default Hello

Hi All,

I have worked at various levels of the UK aquatic trade for the past 10 years, specialising in fish health, predominantly Koi Carp.

I am still in the trade running a successful UK division of a European wholesaler for pond and aquarium products, and importing Japanese Koi.

Anyhow, as always, my job is responsible for the downturn in the enthusiasm I have for my hobby. I'm working with fish and fish related products all day every day, and as a result I'm getting my hobby out of my system at work. I'm not saying I'm bored of it, I'm just saying I'm becoming guilty of "overload".

One of my colleagues (European) breeds Poisonous Dart Frogs and his enthusiasm is rubbing off on me. I have been considering this for a couple of months.

I currently have a Juwel Vision 260 (60 gallon bow fronted aquarium) sat in my front room doing nothing, and I am just about to begin my research and educational path on these fantastic creatures with a view creating a home fit for them.

I understand these aren't ideal to begin with, but I have a sound background on fish health and I'm sure there will be levels of husbandry that are carried over from hobby to hobby. I also have lots of good trade contacts that can offer help and support.

But this is the beginning of my journey, and this is why I find myself here. Hopefully your help will be priceless. I know I will make plenty of mistakes, I did it on my fish learning curve, but hopefully your help will make the results of those mistakes minimal.

Thanks & Hello
