Default Rehome - 2 Bearded Dragons (Cardiff, Delivery London Possible)

I have for rehome two BROKEN bearded dragons.

Please read carefully before responding.

I will not rehome if you are under 18 unless I can speak personally to your parents.

I will not rehome these to someone with a male bearded dragon unless I am 100% convinced that they will never be used for breeding.

These girls are retired - they've had pretty crap lives and they do NOT need to be put in with a male to try and make some money. I'm sorry to sound harsh but I am tired of being messed around by people trying to take advantage of rescue animals.

Beardie 1 - German Giant, hip problems, infertile egg layer. History is overbred (6 clutches a year) from 1 year of age. At some points her hips were broken probably due to an over zealous male and have healed but if laying a fertile clutch of eggs this could prove a problem, not to mention the possible pain and injury of being mated. She will eat anything that's small enough to fit in her mouth, up to small mice even! She also likes her salad and loves mealworms.

Beardie 2 - Normal Beardie (very ugly!) with MBD. Lived in a fish tank with no UVB for 3 years and the light bulb on 24/7. Will always have some signs of MBD but does not need veterinary treatment any more, simply needs to have the correct setup and calcium intake from now on. She will always have weak joints and always walk funny, breeding could kill her because of the calcium egg production takes. She doesn't digest mealworms that well and had never been given salad but has now started taking some. When she got her all she wanted to do was eat and eat and eat but her digestive system is not perfect, and you have to make sure she doesn't overeat, as she can poop it out whole if she eats too much. Small meals often are best for her.

These girls have had tough starts, they are both around 3-4 years old, they are not old, but they are broken, and ugly. They need some love, they are tame, even affectionate, they are greedy, eat well... they just need someone who can overlook their physical flaws and offer a permanent home.

I would like them to go together if possible, but will consider splitting if there is a good reason to do so.

If going together they need to be in a 48 x 24" vivarium, they are quite large beardies despite their problems and do like to get exercise, and obviously need their space.

There is a rehoming fee of £40 (£20 per dragon) which is donated to our sponsored charity (currently Blue Iguana Conservation Trust), but I will waive this if you buy the full setup from us (we will still donate this £40 from the setup price to the charity).

The setup we sell is £200 for a 48 x 24 x 24" vivarium including 10% UVB, starter, basking light, heat mat, thermostat, digital thermometer, large hide & large water bowl. You are more than welcome to provide your own setup as long as I can see it in advance to ensure it is correct (and exists!)

These ladies are still with me, the german giant has now been with me 4 months and the other 2 months. They are coming on in leaps and bounds and are far different to the mess they where when I got them, but will always be permanently disabled ("special"!)

I am still looking for that permanent pet home for them.

I can bring to London Paddington on 9th August.

I already have 3 dragons and have done for the past 6 years, I also have a empty 3foot by 2foot by 2foot empty viv with the setup ready for beardies. If you could please post some pic's I might be able to give these poor creatures a loving home. (LOL but have got the first check if it o.k with the wife)

Thanks

Chris
