you will almost certainly not get them in the UK
the export from madagascar to the uk is banned, and there are only about 2 people working with them over here. i used to have sikorae, fimbriatus and phantasticus about the only place you will find them is in the EU the occasional one will come up in the uk, but they are very very very few and far between. Hi ,
I have 2 unsexed henkeli by now but not for sale ,I hope they will be a pair but I don't know yet. For your information ,henkeli were 170€ each as CB and unsexed ,and guentheri € 140 (CB,unsexed). Try to contact Kanopy on Geckos unlimited ,he may have some guentheris left .He breeds them every year .You can also try to contact some US dealers and importers ,some of them go to Hamm and they put some classifieds on GU, but their animals are mainly imports . For other species all waiting lists are booked until 2009 and even in France ,Germany or Belgium you will find it very hard to get some CB specimens .The import also applies here on the continent.Guentheri are a good choice ,they are hardier than other species as they live on the East coast of Mada -so they are not so sensible with moderatedly high temps and relatively low humidity, their natural habitat is low shrubland ,not rainforests . 80°F during the day and 75°F at night would be great ,never go above 80°F,that would kill them in a very short time.Daily spraying in the evening is also essential ,they love twigs (ex. some small ficus species with twigs and small leaves) but not large branches ,some of them also like cork oak bark as hides .You need at least a 2' high viv to house adults ,as for juveniles they must be kept in smaller vivs or else they will find it hard to spot crickets . Ask Nige maybe (Cornmorphs) he often goes to Hamm and may take some animals back to England with him. Be aware that all these species incl. guentheri are excessively fragile ,and even small keeping mistakes with CB animals will kill them for sure. All species are CITES annex II/European annex B so you need a paper from the breeder with date and signature to assert the geckos were CB in Europe .
