Default Vittikin Eggs!! Almost 5 weeks old.

Hiya Guys,

Well as you know Spike & Dru are going to be parents very soon, either the 1st or 2nd week in november and i wanted to show you there eggs, These eggs were very small when laid and now there a bit cramped! lol.

Spike is half Rankin Half Beardie making him a Vittikin Dragon. And dru is 100% Beardie.

I can wait to see how these babies look as they are so special to me, Spike was my 1st Dragon and i love him to bits even though he's a bit of a daft sod. lol

There are 27 eggs and they are all fertile and look good apart from water stains but this is fine.

Oh god, TINY! ummm about 4cm from head to tail. I don't know how small these babies will be as spike was a tiny baby at 8 weeks old and Spike is half the size of a fully grown male and hes 18 months old. Dru is slightly bigger than him.

So these babies might be smaller cos of Spike's bloodline but then again they might take after dru? It's hard to say being Vittikin.

This is Dru when she was gravid, She laid her eggs 2 days later!

Hiya Garreth,

Yes unfortunately some eggs do tend to go bad, Sometimes they fail at the last few days, but i guess thats nature for you.

Glad you got a poly box! phew! Just make sure you make 2 x 1 inch holes on either side so it don't get too hot and cook the eggs.

If you are incubating your eggs at 82-83 then they should hatch in 6 weeks time!. Aww aint this fun! That means your eggs will hatch the beginning of December!. Also remember! if an egg looks bad then keep it in another tub on it own until you are 100% sure it is bad cos 13 of my eggs looked terrible and then to my suprise they all hatched!.

Only chuck it if it has collapsed and gone greenish colour.

Yeah the one set have completely collapsed! Oddly though they are all in the one cricket tub... Others are good though, they've really grown in the last week!

Hmm try increasing the humidity! Do you have the incubator like mine??

Poly box with heat mat on bottom, then a large shallow water dish with a grill ontop and then the tubs with the eggs??

Is the vermiculite damp enough?? maybe it's too dry??

Na all of that is covered and the tub was in more or less the same position / conditions as the others.... baffled me but maybe they were just infertile. Still got them in there mind just in case but its hightly unlikely
