Breeding season can bring out really bright oranges in Iguanas, hence her colouring. Also from looking at lots of wild iguana pics there seems to be a lot of morphological differences between regions, especially the island races.

Cool,

Well she is stunning. I have recently got myself a 6 month old Iggy. We think he is male because already he is claiming territory and bobbing his head with his dewlap out.

Both our females like a good head bob so it's not necessarily a good indicator. TBH the best way is to try and watch his back end when he goes to the toilet as the males will evert their hemepenises on occasion. My fiancee was told that Vinny was a male and saw no reason to doubt it until she started laying eggs (Vinny not Loulou  ). I'll stick another thread up with some pics of Vinny.

Have you any pics on the board of your ig?

Ah ok, thanks for that, I'll try to keep an eye out

LOL @ Laying eggs, that is a bit of a give away. I haven't got many pictures of him, whenever I have tried to take some he has always come out in a really dark green colour and he isn't like that. I was going to try and get some yesterday but he started shedding and looks really scruffy. I hope to give it go this weekend when there are more people abot to help/ stop him from running off.
