i bet youve wonderd what all the fuss was about when you first got him with handleing every day, some people think if they dont handle them all the time they will turn in to a 4ft aggressive monitor over night all they end up with most of the time is a monitor that thinks oh crap im going to get grabed now, every time the viv door opens so they get defensive and whip hiss or bite and then get thought of as being agressive it can take a long time for them to settle properly in my eyes youve done the right thing
good work m8

and yeah i must admit i thought i was going to end up with a bad tempered nasty 4ft monster lol...and i will be up front an honest i even tried selling him after a few months! as i thought it was me! and i wasnt giving him the time he needed etc, so felt he would be better with someone who would have the time to put in! but i am VERY glad he didnt sell and realise now i would have just been putting him back to square one....and having to learn to trust another keeper etc, one thing i would like to know is if he is actualy a he! lol...as considering his age he is quite small and i have TRIED looking for any signs of hemipenal bulges but i dont see any but then he is struggling at the time when i do that...i just have a strange feeling he may well be a SHE not that i mind at all...

have you ever noticed straight after going to the loo if the hemipenus comes out it will happen just about every time with males it looks flowery looking on the top and has another small tube comeing off the side a female will very rarely evert and when she does its not as fully everted as a males and its more smooth and tube looking ,a male will have a more larger head which looks blocked shaped and has prenounced nostrils
a female`s head is small and slender looking her colour will allso be abit dull compared to a males which is alot lighter

i have looked out for eversions but sadly i haven`t had the opportunity to see him/her go...and it is ALWAYS in the water bowl! as for the head it isnt particularly large and bulky like in some males...i guess i will just have to keep waiting for that elusive eversion!
