mine sleeps curled up i dont think cardboard boxes will work in a tegu viv as they need theyre humidity 60-70 so a quick daily misting is needed and a cardboard box would get soggy, stick with cork bark they allso look much more easy on the eye than a cardboard box
id rather fork out a few more quid and get something thats going to make my viv look nice why spend £150 on a tegu then give him a bit of rubbish for him to sleep in
cork vark is the way to go

we paper mached over out cardboard box and made it cave like. Your probably right about the humidity though. dont thinkk a paper mache cave would last long.

Nice looking tegu. If its any help I made Retes stacks for my monitors - they make pretty good hides and allow them to select different temperature gradients:

or you could just quickly coat your hides with waterproof yacht varnish? I spray my viv and dont have a problem, its really thick strong cardboard though.

I have seen one in the rep shop thats massive and looks ace its hand made that we have been waiting to get him I think I will get that tuesday its £30 but it will last him ages and if it makes him happy then its all good.
