They look fantastic! Do they have "armoured" eyes?

No,just protruding scales above their eyes which look like eyelashes but aren't-the role of these scales has still not been studied,I believe it helps them both with detering predators because it gives them a threatening look though scales are soft,and probably with mimetism too.
