Yeah, that's what bothers me. The geckos are all looked after by both of us which works fine cos I love them but am a bit freaked about snakes. The corns look lovely when they're tiny and I can see there appeal but I'm not sure I could handle a full size one. The feeding doesn't bother me it's just the handling - maybe though if we had a baby it wouldn't bother me cos I'd get used to it as it grew. He's asking for one as a Xmas pressie so I'll have to seriously think about it cos he's very, very good at taking care of the geckos.

Thanks for your comments.

omg i cant believe this. i am amazed. after saying that kings win for eating hands down my corn has just eat for the first time in 4 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just went to close mouse cages and that and found a female killing her litter. gory details but i found a few with guts and brains hanging out that wee still alive and 1 that was fine and they hadnt touched. i was going to hand rear the 1 that was ok but due to work i cant and i thought the kindest thing would be to put it to sleep. so i put him to sleep aswel as a screaming mouse ( not messing it was literally screaming) that had been savaged by parents. i didnt want to waste carcuses so in they went with my corn and he loved them. im not messing from walking from my bedroom to shut the door and back again the pinkies were gone. unfortunatly i found a lkot of skeletons in the bed of the mice so tomorrow will be doom day for the mother. (dont want bad parents in the blood lines) there was no reason to do it as she hasnt been touched etc.

soz to hijak thread,

lovely lil lizard (dont know breed not a lizard person soz)

i really enjoy the beardies for there activness but the corns are great to hold and they are really docile!! but i think a beardie needs way more looking after but its all worth it. but corns on the other hand are really easy to look after if you know what to do

hope this helps James

What about popping into a reptile place and asking to handle an adult corn there? You might find it's not as bad as you think! I've handled (or helped handle!) some pretty big snakes over the last few months and it's not so bad!

Yes, would definitely do that before buying one cos I'd want Elliot to hold one too so that he was sure about it. Sorry for hijacking your thread James.
