Default Hatchling Steno photos

New photos of my baby sand geckos!

I think they're all ID'd correctly...

Shadow playing at finders keepers - she doesn't yet realise 5p doesn't go far when it comes to buying crickets!

Magic, took her a while to get started feeding but now she is wolfing down the crix!

Kalahari - one of the terrible two, the terrors that send shivers through every cricket...

Chubby and Shadow - Chubby hatched out 10 days after Shadow but was a big hatchling matching her in size!

And the second of the terrible two Arizona, can't go anywhere near their tub without them jumping around thinking it is time for another feed!

No photos of my last hatchling, Camera, yet. She's a problem feeder so I don't want to disturb her any more than necessary.

They are adorable well done, the eggs are so tiny and to manage them correctly must have taken some skill.

Takes a bit of trial and error with them, now I just gently move the eggs straight onto a milk bottle top - seems to be a method that works the best. Actually have a new clutch to look for I think. One of my adult females is looking gravid yet again and was burrowing last night. Hopefully this will be her last clutch this year! I'm not digging around until I see her though because she does sometimes dig a few deep pits and fills them in before actually laying!

Amazing - it isn't until you go and pick up a 5p that you can realise just how teeny they actually are - many congrats on what is obviously a very delicate job

My first two clutches from last year were destroyed by the heatwave, couldn't get my room temperature down and it went up to nearly 40oC! The last two clutches were ruined when I moved to Scotland.

And my other female hasn't laid her new clutch yet because she's out digging an even bigger pit She's proving to be highly original too - laying her eggs in the EXACT same place as always
