Lol second person sayin calci sand! lol its just riverbed red sand from petzoo they had black or yellow but I thought red looked nicer, Im wanting to put them on tiles.

But my worry is - Im using a red heat light an things get hot using them kind of real hot - I mean my heated end measures temps 30-32c

My cool end measures 23.5 - 25.5 -

My problem with sand is they kick it everywere IE in the water dish which is a problem - I got it to make the viv look presentable but it makes such a mess! were can I get tiles

Just get tiles from a DIY store. You can get vinyl ones or proper tiles.

is your heat light not on a stat?
As for the tiles you can just keep them on kitchen roll until you find the tiles you like/want

My heat light is on a dimmer - is that the correct stat? I have spare heatmat stat but was told a dimmer was the correct way to go about it if using a bulb or was I mis-advised
