Default Pics of Everybody (many pics, DUW!)

Heya all,
Now that we have 2 new additions (they are snakes admittedly, but most of the collection are lizards so thats why theyre in here!) I decided to post some new pictures of the whole crew. Hope you like them!

"Howling Mad" Murdock, the lunatic skink, lurking in the shadows. He is highly unpredictable in terms of temperament! He has two girls, the lucky bugger.

"Aquila", one of the witches (they are a very nasty pair of females). She is one of Murdocks biatches.

"Bali", the other witch. This one in particular is very unpleasant! She also lives with Aquila and Murdock.

I cant feel my legs! "Altjira" (Big Al) in what cant possibly be a comfortable position. He was previously housed with two other lads, but now has company in the form of one female.

Gremlin now enjoying a life of luxury with Al. She was very bony when we got her, but has picked up nicely. She and Al get on extremely well.

Nimbus and Kaiser in an unusually tranquil moment. Nimbus seems to tolerate Kaiser (most of the time), whereas Kaiser seems to dote on her and is always sitting meekly nearby.

Kaiser manning (or skinking) his "Look Out Post".

Timba the baby Crawl Cay boa looking suspicious. He is quite shy and retiring at the moment, but not bolshy at all.

Our unnamed female baby royal. She is a bit scatty, not really knowing whether to be shy or inquisitive poor thing.

Finally, "Big Teg" the tegu and me. Teg is a 4ft fully-grown adult argentine black and white tegu, and is absolutely wonderful.

Aww great collection, was it easy to tame your tegu? They all seem to be scatty and I'd love one if they're easily tamed

Argentine tegus will generally get calmer as they get bigger - as long as youre handling them regularly of course. Big Teg was about 11months old when we got him and he was fairly mellow. Ive had 2 baby tegs since (unfortunately they have both gone to new homes since) and they have been far more nervy - though again they gradually got more and more mellow as they got older (and, more importantly, larger!).

In my experience, baby tegus are nearly always scatty (or at least quite easily spooked), whereas adults are more easy-going. Of course, this means that untame adults may not have any fear of people at all - which can be troublesome! I love argentine tegus, and I think we will always have at least one; they are just such easygoing characters.

Darkdan - lol, how kind they all cost far more than me though, so you should be more impressed by them!!

Lol, I got my hair cut at the weekend Its taking a lot of getting used to!

Yeah the teeth do hurt quite a bit...I got bitten by all 3 at some point, and its more the pressure of the bite that causes the problem. Theyre like bulldog teeth! Luckily I havent yet met one that just wants to bite out of aggression; Big Teg occasionally kicks up a fuss in the garden and can give a temperamental bite, but he will let go right away. I think he just does it out of principle - he seems to revert to his wild roots in the garden!
