thanks for all the nice comments guys! he certainly is pretty special! only problem is i'm now a lizard man as well as a snake man so it doubles the amount of new species i want to get

I love salvators. I'd personally say 8x4 is too small for a potentially 9ft lizard though. You may want to go bigger.

its a varanus salvator mate not salvadorii! i've not seen many reports of salvators much bigger than 7, certainly not 9! if he gets bigger than the viv i will upgrade obviously but seeing as his tail makes up about 2/3 of his body, i would think 8 x 4 would be fine for at least 4 years

I know what it is

I did say possible length (they have topped 9ft, it's not common though granted), there are a few different localities and a whole range of sizes between them.

I know you'll house it accordingly as it grows though. Not a species I've kept myself.....though one I've always wanted to!!
