Default beardie advice please.

ive been thinking about getting some beardies for some time now, but before i start getting serious about the whole thing, i need some answers.
firstly.. i have an alcove at one end of my room, which is 6ft wide 6ft high but only 18 inches deep!. is this big enough for adult beardies?

second,. ive seen a few setups and noticed they usually only have one main branch to climb (bask) on! why is this?
would i be wasting my time putting several branches in there?
would they use the space?

(sorry..the second question turned into the third and fourth as well)
any help would be appreciated.

first question, yes! plenty big enough, an adult beardie would love something that big. But a baby wouldn't feel as secure so maybe something a bit smaller for when its young.

second question, its entirely up to you. as long as there is something to climb on its fine. I have one main log and a few other braches, and they use them all.

you could always partition off half of the viv to give the beardie a little more security while he's little. Then when he's big enough take the partition out and let him have the run of the whole 6ft viv.

3ftx3ftx18in would be fine for a baby then 6ftx3ftx18in as an adult, though it would be better if you could make it 6ftx3ftx2ft which would mean it would come out from your alcove by 6inch

Just as an addition as I've had it as advice from people on here; adult Beardies aren't nearly as good climbers as they'd like to think they are!

Heights good, just don't let 'em climb too high as they may fall and hurt 'emselves which none of us want. I was setting up my 4'x15"x15" for a baby (Sectioned off of course) but now back to thinking of making my own again.... but I won't make it more that 2/3' high at the most.

Pics of the viv when done though please! Always nice to see peoples projects take shape!
